My approach is warm, playful, culturally-affirming, queer-affirming, kink-affirming, and client-centered. I truly believe that finding the right psychotherapist, someone who feels like a “good fit”, encourages  folks to feel a bit more comfortable with vulnerability, which can be difficult for many. Humans are multi-dimensional beings and healing looks different for everyone, based on their unique needs and standpoint in society. One of my favorite parts of being a psychotherapist is witnessing my clients re-discover what brings them joy.

How I Work

I have a decade of experience working with diverse populations in the mental health world.  As a trauma-informed Associate Clinical Social Worker and yoga instructor with a background in Gender Studies, I approach my work with an intersectional lens. I consider the whole human being, the various systems that they are a part of, and how this affects them. It is important to me that I am mindful of how my client perceives the world, as well as how the world perceives them.  I am playful, nurturing, and gently challenge my clients when it is appropriate and helpful to the process.  My therapeutic approach is anti-oppressive, culturally-affirming, queer-affirming, kink-affirming, and client-centered.

I enjoy incorporating evidence-based and experiential practices such as: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, deep breathing accompanied by yoga asanas (poses), and expressive arts. In my practice, I adapt to a client’s unique needs and enjoy being creative with therapy.
